About the role
As a Power Plant Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of power generation equipment to ensure efficient and safe energy production. You will utilize your core skills in equipment monitoring and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance. You will be expected to adhere to safety regulations while working in a team-oriented environment. Position Responsibilities:
Operation of mobile equipment, including skid steer loader, font-end loader, and forklift.
Perform and document inspections of equipment to identify and report equipment malfunctions.
Supervise and observe delivery trucks hauling materials to the tipping floor.
Inspect delivered refuse, waste, and materials, and determine appropriate process for disposal.
Moving equipment and materials.
Working in the boilers during maintenance outages.
Assist other operating personnel as necessary to support plant operations.
Position Requirements & Qualifications:
Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule and work overtime as needed on nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to work in the plant under extremes of hot and cold, areas of dust, noise, and in wet conditions.
Must be able to wear a respirator, climb a ladder to access equipment and work from heights using fall protection, lift heavy objects and other manual labor to including pushing, pulling, sweeping, and shoveling.
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
